Bentley

Speed sustained through strength and luxury

The complete perspective

Why the name matters.

W.O. Bentley built cars around durability, torque and competition. The original Bentley Boys made Le Mans central to the mythology, while later eras recast the name through coachbuilt luxury, high-speed continental travel and modern all-wheel-drive performance.

How it evolved

The 3 Litre, 4½ Litre and Speed Six defined the independent company. Rolls-Royce ownership shifted Bentley toward a sporting variation of shared luxury machinery; the Continental R restored individuality, and Volkswagen investment created the Continental GT as a modern global flagship.

What it does best

Effortless torque, long-distance capability, deep material quality and one of endurance racing's foundational histories.

Where the story is complicated

The balance between sporting independence and shared luxury platforms has changed repeatedly across ownership eras.
